Festival on the 4th

Where: Worlds Fair Park, Knoxville

When: July 4, 4pm-10pm

Cost: Free 

The Festival on the 4th delivers a wide variety of family fun including entertainment, activities and treats at the City of Knoxville's 4th of July celebration at the World's Fair Park. Throughout the day festival goers will be treated to good music, good food, good fun and good times on the Festival and Performance lawns of the World's Fair Park.

Concord Yacht Club 4th of July Regatta

Where: Northshore Dr. Knoxville 

When: July 4, 10am

Cost: No registration fee

Held in celebration of the July 4th holiday, this event brings out club members of all ages for racing! This regatta is open to both keelboats and dinghies.  CYC will host a dinner and a fireworks display that evening. CYC members will sign up and pay for the dinner per instructions provided by the Social Chairman. Visiting competitors who wish to attend the dinner and fireworks display should preregister. Even if you're not a racer, it's always fun to watch too!

Gatlinburg's First Independence Day Parade in the Nation

Where: Downtown Gatlinburg

When: July 4, 12:00 am (Midnight) 

Cost: Free 

Gatlinburg celebrates the 4th of July in a big way and this year will be no exception. For 42 years, Gatlinburg has kicked off the holiday with the first Independence Parade in the Nation stepping off at 12:01 a.m. on July 4. In recognition of their heroic efforts during the 2016 wildfires, Gatlinburg is proud to announce that the Grand Marshals for the Midnight Parade will be the Firefighters, First Responders and Law Enforcement Officers who came to their aid.

Smokin' the Water 2017

Where: City of Kingston Waterfront

When: July 4, 9 am-10pm

Cost: Free 

One of the longest running festivals on the 4th of July, set on beautiful Watts Bar Lake in Kingston, TN. Events include BBQ Cook Off, Kids Zone, Homemade Raft Races, Food, Car Show, Parade, and Musical Acts like: The Royal Hounds, Johnny Neel, Band Temper, and Cereus Bright. All this leads up to one of the largest firework shows in East Tennessee.

Museum of Appalachia Independence Day Celebration & Anvil Shoot

Where: Museum of Appalachia, Norris TN

When: July 4, 9am-6pm

Cost: $20 for Adults, $15 for Military, $10 for Youth (13-17), $6 for Children (5-12), and Family Rate is $35. 

The Museum of Appalachia has  Anvil shoots at 10 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 1 p.m., and 2:30 p.m. There is also a pie baking contest at noon. Along with the big booms, there are patriotic ceremonies and lots of music—the old-time mountain music of the Southern Appalachian Mountains. Wander the Museum's Village and see demonstrations of spinning, weaving, blacksmithing, old-fashioned games for kids, cross cut sawing, sassafras tea brewing and cedar rail splitting.

Fourth of July on Mabry's Hill

Where: Mabry-Hazen House, Dandridge Ave. Knoxville 

When: July 4, 6pm

Cost: Adults $60, Children under 12 are free with a ticket holder. 

Mabry-Hazen House will host its second annual Fourth of July Celebration on historic Mabry’s Hill. Attendees will enjoy a great view of the July 4th fireworks show, good food, and live music by Eli Fox. Tours of the historic home will begin at 6pm, and dinner will be served at 7:30. Alcohol is BYOB. Purchase your tickets in advance to guarantee your attendance.
